Final workshop on criteria developed for sustainable information and press trips

Futouris has teamed up with the Spanish Tourist Board in Berlin to create a checklist for more environmentally friendly and socially responsible information and press trips. The results were presented at a digital workshop in February and are now available free of charge on the Futouris Knowledge World.

Criteria for sustainable information and press trips
Information and press trips are often characterized by a dense itinerary that covers numerous accommodations and program points in a short period of time, often ignoring sustainable activities and local products. So how can such trips be made more environmentally friendly and socially responsible?
Futouris tackled this challenging question in a joint project with the Spanish Tourist Board in Berlin. The result of the joint initiative is a comprehensive checklist for more sustainable information and press trips, which was developed in close cooperation with Prof. Dr. Christian Baumgartner from response & ability GmbH and tested on a press trip to Menorca.
Final workshop to present the results
At the beginning of February, Futouris project manager Tatjana Peters and Prof. Dr. Christian Baumgartner presented the exciting project and the associated checklist in detail to more than 75 representatives of Spanish destinations and their partners. They provided valuable suggestions and inspiration for the organization of future information and press trips, taking into account environmentally friendly, socially and economically sustainable criteria. The aim is to create an authentic experience for both the participants and the communities visited.
The topic met with great interest from the participating service providers, who asked specific questions about tips, practical examples or solutions to challenges.
Checklist for free use
