German Ambassador to Greece visits TUI Field to Fork Greece project
Tatjana PetersAt the beginning of February, the German Ambassador to Greece, Andreas Kindl, visited the "TUI Field to Fork Greece - Regenerative Agriculture" project, which Futouris is implementing in Crete and Rhodes in cooperation with the TUI Care Foundation and the Sustainable Food Destination Organization®. At an event at the Lyrarakis Wines estate, the local project team presented the objectives and activities, gave a tour of the facility and offered a tasting of the wines produced using regenerative methods
At the beginning of February 2024, we had the great pleasure of briefing the German Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Andreas Kindl, on the pioneering project "TUI Field to Fork Greece - Regenerative Agriculture". The project is being implemented in collaboration with the TUI Care Foundation and the local cooperation partner Sustainable Food Destination Organization® on the islands of Crete and Rhodes.
During an event at the Lyrarakis Wines winery in the mountainous region of Crete, our local project team, consisting of Nikiforos Steiakakis, Sotiris Di. Bampagiouris and Eirini Tsirimokou, presented the project's objectives and planned activities to the ambassador. An employee of the winery took the attendees on a tour of the facility and explained the principles and benefits of regenerative agriculture. Farmers involved in the project as well as representatives from the hotel industry and food production were also present to provide detailed insights into the project activities and measures.
The highlight of the event was the tasting of wines grown and produced using regenerative methods, which was offered to all participants.
