Milestone reached: 138 green shore excursions on AIDA Cruises

Since the launch of the "Sustainable Shore Excursions" project in the Baltic Sea region, the collaboration with AIDA Cruises has led to 138 more climate-friendly tours in destinations visited, supplemented by a variety of green bicycle, pedelec and stand-up paddling tours. The focus is on avoiding CO2 emissions, proper waste disposal, protecting the underwater world and promoting local culinary specialties

Discover destinations sustainably
The collaboration with AIDA Cruises is bearing fruit: the joint project "Sustainable Shore Excursions" was launched in 2012 in the Baltic Sea region as a test region - AIDA currently offers 138 of these green tours in a large number of ports in all vacation regions. In addition to the 230 additional bicycle and pedelec tours on offer, the destination can now also be explored by stand-up paddling.
A sustainable approach to the excursion region is always a key feature of the excursions: in the area of transportation, the focus is on avoiding CO2 emissions, waste is disposed of properly, the underwater world is not touched during diving tours and cycling tours start directly from the ship wherever possible. In addition, culinary experiences focus on local specialties and thus contribute to the preservation of the livelihood of the local population.
