Futouris e.V., the sustainability initiative of the tourism industry, is reorganizing its board. At this year's Annual General Meeting, the members elected Lucienne Damm as Chairwoman and Ralf Hieke as her deputy. In addition, Florian Käufer joins the Futouris Board. Prof. Dr. Harald Zeiss and Ulrike Braun retired from the Board after many years of commitment.

Lucienne Damm as new Futouris Chairwoman of the Board

The sustainability initiative Futouris has reorganized its Board: Lucienne Damm, Head of Sustainability at TUI Cruises, was elected as the new Chairwoman of the Board at the virtual Annual General Meeting on March 31. Lucienne Damm has been active on the Futouris Board since 2015 and has been Deputy Chairwoman since 2017. She is now looking forward to the new challenge: "Futouris has been a matter close to my heart for over 10 years. At the top of our agenda is the challenge of supporting and further intensifying the climate protection activities of our members. This requires a strong organization at Futouris, to which I would like to make my contribution. Futouris is and will remain the point of contact for tourism stakeholders who want to actively promote sustainable tourism."

Other new additions to the Futouris Board

Ralf Hieke (Reisebüro Strier, IVR Reisebüro and fairweg.de) and Florian Käufer (TFC Airlebnis Reise und Event) have joined the Board. Ralf Hieke, who is also a member of the executive committee of the German Travel Association DRV, was directly elected deputy chairman by the Futouris members. Ralf Hieke thanks the Futouris members for their great confidence in him and outlines his goals for the work of the board: "Vome people talk about sustainable travel, but still far too few actually book it in the end. For me, increasing sales of sustainable travel across the industry is one of our most important goals for the coming years, alongside climate protection."

The previous treasurer Friederike Grupp and the board members Thomas Bohlander and Ingo Lies were confirmed in their positions.

Thanks to the previous board chairs

The previous board chair Prof. Dr. Harald Zeiss and board member Ulrike Braun were dismissed from the Futouris board after 5 years of voluntary work. Lucienne Damm would like to thank Harald Zeiss and Ulrike Braun for their many years of dedicated board work: "Harald and Uli have played a decisive role in shaping Futouris in recent years. Both have always supported our initiative with great enthusiasm and contributed forward-looking ideas. In recent years, Futouris has been able to attract a large number of new member companies and launch exciting industry initiatives such as "Plastic-free vacations" and "Climate-conscious travel". We are delighted that Harald will continue to work closely with Futouris as project manager of the first phase of the "Climate-conscious travel" industry project and wish Uli all the best in her new job in Switzerland."
