The aim of the project is to make the info trips more sustainable, taking ecological, social and economic aspects into account. Not only should the trip itself be made more sustainable, but the focus of the trip should also be on more sustainable activities, local products and projects at the destination visited.

Press and information trips are often not designed with sustainable aspects in mind
Travel connects people and contributes to the cosmopolitanism and tolerance of travelers. The aim is to give equal consideration to ecological, economic and social aspects, as the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals make clear.
Information trips, such as press or fam trips, serve to inform tourism experts such as travel agents and journalists about a particular destination in order to raise awareness of it among the respective target group. As a rule, these trips are not designed with sustainability in mind, as the trips themselves are short and flights are often used to get to the destination. In addition, some trips focus on visiting as many hotels as possible instead of getting to know the destination and its special features and offers.
Development of criteria for more sustainable information trips
The aim of the project is therefore to design these information trips with ecological, social and economic aspects in mind and thus reduce the negative impact of these trips.
Not only should the trip itself be made more sustainable, but the focus of the trip should also be on more sustainable activities, local products and projects at the destination visited.
To achieve this, the most important criteria that should be taken into account are summarized in a guide. Turespaña will then organize a press trip with a destination partner, taking into account the criteria developed.
