Project objectives

  1. Development and design of guidelines and tips for successful communication of sustainable tourism offers

  2. Application of the developed guidelines in practice by the member Global Communication Experts.

Travelers find it difficult to find sustainable travel offers

Sustainability is important to German holidaymakers, 71% of German holidaymakers want an environmentally friendly and socially responsible vacation. However, sustainability plays a subordinate role in actual travel behavior. Respondents often attribute this to a lack of information and offers. For 67% of Germans, it is not easy to find sustainable alternatives.

This is where the joint project with the Costa Rica Tourism Board comes in. It aims to effectively and successfully market and communicate sustainable tourism offers in order to highlight them as a USP.

The project is being scientifically supported by Prof. Dr. Christian Baumgartner and students from the "Communication and Marketing of Sustainability" module at the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden.
